Barking at the Universe (April 2006)

Sometimes it takes some extreme measures to change a program, at least for me.

I love my morning walks and generally listen to my affirmation tapes which I’ve made then, or chat on the phone with a highly evolved friend. One day I decided that I had hit the wall over a particular subject.

Here is the way the chain of events generally goes:
You hammer away at something which is really not working in your life. You keep coming up against the same problem over and over. You have a situation which does not change and you hit the wall. Well, one of the best concepts I’ve ever learned is that at the very instant what you do not want is happening, you launch a powerful rocket of desire for the opposite. In that split second the Universe has heard and answered and so lickity split, it’s right there waiting for you in this holy instant!! The trick is: getting your vibration high enough to receive it. Now this is directly from Abraham-Hicks (Ask and It Is Given, one of my favorite teachers/books).

So the question is: how do you lift your vibration to the level of receiving what you want, i.e. what you don’t want?

There are many methods but this is one that I happened on that has worked for me like a charm.

I realized that all the years I had been teaching out of a University setting, I had somehow taken on the job of enrolling my classes. I happened to hate this job!! Somehow, I did it begrudgingly for many years until one month it just came to a head and out of the depth of my soul came the following words: I DO NOT ENROLL!!!!

Now I was corrected by well meaning friends that it’s not a good idea to use a negative in an affirmation. But in learning A Science of Mind, I was taught there are two kinds of treatment: One is affirmative, and one is negating. (If the negating form does not work for you, then you must change to affirmative, but for me, boy, did it work like a charm!)

So I picked up my cell phone and walked along the beach and barked away at the recipient of the call (my witness) who took the place of the Universe: I DO NOT ENROLL I DO NOT ENROLL I DO NOT ENROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe this went on for up to 30 minutes!!! Now you must remember, the U heard on the first bark; it’s us who have to hear the next 29 minutes!

In that exact day, my phone began ringing off the hook; e-mails were coming in; classes were getting packed. What the U heard was, I am a butterfly/ artist and my teaching became stronger and less diluted. Somehow the U took on the job of enrolling for me. All aspects of my life that I do love have gotten stronger. It’s sort of like taking the weeds out of the garden.  It has been an amazing turn around and naturally I’m excited and using this technique on other subjects.

Affirm often:
I deserve to have the best life possible now; therefore I am eliminating those aspects of my life which do not represent my dream life and allowing God/The Universe to bring me my divine and perfect life now!
(Now bark away!)
