What are you expecting? (August 2008)

I was reading this Abraham quote and thought it would be the launching pad for this newsletter:

“Whatever is manifesting in your experience is a perfect reflection of what you’re expecting”—Abraham Cruise March 2008

It’s a little like having cold water splashed into your face, isn’t it?

I often have to go to my travelogue life to have a reality check on how good I am at manifesting!

This year I have taken about 15 vacations. I could go over to my calendar and count, but that seems about right. I’m almost afraid to write about this, because Law of Attraction will bring me even more! For some reason (apparently I had a lot of passion for this and launched a lot of rockets of desire), I don’t even have to hiccup and another world class trip falls in my lap!!
I remember how long I had wanted to go to Napa and it was not falling into place in the “right and perfect way” as we Science of Mind people say. Then all of a sudden, I get a call: “Hey Joni, do you want to go to Napa?” and my mind raced with: “Just how long do I have to wait before I say yes?????!!!!” Well that trip was over the moon and it really took me a couple weeks for it to sink in that I had even taken it! Of course by then I was already on another trip! And at the same time, I felt I was going to get invited on a totally upscale, visiting the family, trip to Italy this fall. I had to mentally put the brakes on because it got to a point, where this much travelling was stretching the boundaries of what I considered to be fun. And if I even think about it, I will get invited to Japan, and Australia and New Zealand, and Brazil, and……oh never mind!

Anyhow, I use these illustrations to point out:

“Whatever is manifesting in your experience is a perfect reflection of what you’re expecting”.

There are other topics that I’ve told myself some story about how difficult it would be to have something happen, how time consuming, how long I would have to wait, and my favorite one, how many traditional steps I would need to take to make it happen. Hey let’s not forget that old standby: How expensive it will be! Those last two really crack me up. With all of these trips, not only did I not take any traditional steps, they all totally fell on my head in the most economical ways possible! (Again you don’t know how much I “fear” writing this newsletter will bring even more invitations.)

So one of the practices I established in my workshops is: when we share miracles, rather than telling about the stuff that is happening, we tell about the stuff that is “not happening” and tell it as if it is! We jokingly call these “anti-miracles” because whatever you talk about over and over, must happen!

So I am moving into the most glamorous, loving, quiet, awesome new home which is huge with gorgeous views of trees and nature all around, loving people surrounding it, large, airy, sunny, spacious, modern, and brand new in the best location in the world, AND it has huge closets! And boy can I afford it! The best part of this story is: I did absolutely NOTHING to make it happen!!! It came to me as do all great things.

I once heard a great quote:

“When you do something and something happens, it’s good.
When you do nothing and something happens, it’s great.”
Love that quote!!!!

So friends, always bear in mind when you peruse your life, that your expectations are dancing away making stuff happen. If you love it all, then expect more of it. If you’re not too crazy about it all, then tell new stories over and over until your friends get bored with all your great news!

Affirm often:
My life is being created every single moment in my mind and I am creating wonders!

Sincerely,  Joni
