Lean Where There Is Greater Aliveness (June 2007)
In Science of Mind, we are taught "Let the vision pull you, rather than the pain push you."
I went back East last week for fun with family and friends. I had the wonderful experience of getting to upstate NY with absolutely no problem. My brother, on the other hand, had an experience I've had so many times, of getting to Chicago O'Hare and being told it would take 2 days or more to get to Syracuse, NY due to "air traffic control." He never did make it to our family reunion.
So as the days approached for my return to LA, I became increasingly fearful. I saw the forecast for 7 days of thunderstorms in Newark, New Jersey, (my connecting city), and having been "bumped" there five times in a row in the past, I was filled with trepidation of this occurring again.
So in true Joni form, I did 3 things"
1. I lit 3 candles in 2 different Catholic Churches
2. I consulted The Tarot online. (I received The Magician, i.e., "You are magical and have magical experiences.")
3. I called my astrologer. (She counseled: "Go the day before; complications and trouble for the scheduled day in Newark!")
So the day approached and I knew I could go the day before and be a little safer. But my friend Kay and I had planned absolutely magical experiences for that day. So like in the movie "The Celestine Prophecy", when standing in a forest, faced with "what direction to go", one path appeared more illumined.
It was definitely illumined for me to stay the last day as planned and rely on my six burning candles. Kay and I got lost on the most amazing hike, saw deer, a baby mink, butterflies, birds and even got pleasantly lost driving to find a blueberry wine vineyard! We found it, sat outside marvelling at acres of trees, and loved the wine!
Come the day of departure, I wake up at 6:25AM. My call was for 6:45AM. I immediately did something I never do. I called the airlines checking on my flights. I was told that due to long delays in Newark I had been re-routed on another airline and would be flown through Detroit which had sunny pleasant weather. The glitch was: I had to get dressed, pack, check out of the hotel and be in my car in 10 minutes in order to make this earlier flight! I write this newsletter on the plane as I am arriving in LA 4 hours prior to my scheduled arrival. None of this would had happened, had I not listened to my intuition and made that phone call. The airlines never contacted me!
Affirm often:
I am divinely guided in all I do and I always take the path most illumined.
Sincerely, Joni
