HAIR MIRACLE (November 2005)

I've been blessed over the years with amazing hairstylists who seemed to have devoted a portion of their lives working on my hair! It's definitely a work in progress and requires all kinds of upkeep for my constantly changing image.

I have a wonderful story for each of these great people but today I would like to focus on Frances (I've changed her name to protect her anonymity).

I overheard a student talking about Frances, and this is generally the way I meet the most amazing, life-changing people. I get the feeling I'm supposed to meet someone and I'm there. Then the student wrote to me and said: "You and Francis are the two most amazing people I've ever met in my life!"

So off I went.

She was great, and she said to me: "You couldn't have met me if you were not on my level."  Now that's a heck of a good start.

So I went once and got remarkable hair, and she did not come to see me for a session. She said: "Joni, you don't understand. You were sitting in my chair".

So I said "OK........". Hair calls again, and I make another appointment for even more amazing hair, and she still does not reciprocate with a session.  So I say: "Frances, I can't keep coming to you like this", and she says: "But you don't understand. You were sitting in my chair." I'm thinking "Mmmmm.....OK."

Then my hair totally needs her, and I think: "I can't keep booking sessions at $200 each without returning a session!"  So, I cancel on her machine two times, feeling very uncomfortable about this. Finally, I reach her, and she so encourages me to come in.  When I get there she says: "Joni, I'm powerful and I didn't want you to leave."

The lesson I learned is something that I teach all the time. It's not what you do in life, it's who you are. We are realizing that we have presence, that we embody more and more light, and that is what causes healings, enlightenment, changes, good feelings, happiness in others....not what we do! I've so said this and so thought this, but when it came down to it, I didn't always get it.

So today, I'm looking foxy and frisky with my even more awesome hair, and thanking God for knowing that "the Power within doeth the work."

(Now before I end, there's a quirky part to this story. While I'm sitting in Frances' chair, my celebrity hairstylist, with whom I do exchanges, phones me that she wants to do my hair right then! Wow, when it rains it pours!)

Affirm often:
I am one with God, with all that is, all the time, and this Beneficent Force is causing miracles in and around me.

 Sincerely, Joni
