Ask and It Is Given (November 2006)

I was invited to an upscale restaurant opening last night.

That morning I’d received an Abe quote e-mail which said something to the effect of: “Yes I want that! Put that on my card! And I’ll have one of that! Oh and I’ll take that too!”  That is, that the Universe is constantly trying to give us that which we ask for.

So the waitress hands us the menu. And I say: “Can I order an appetizer?” and she says “Yes, you can order 5 appetizers if you want.” And I say, “How about champagne?” She says: “Which bottle would you like?” And “How about a main course?” “Which would you like?” It was absolutely unbelievable.  When I asked about the dessert, she said: “It’s huge!” I said “OK, Bring one!”  When it arrived at my table, I said to the other waiter jokingly, (by the way we were fawned over all night by multiple waiters/waitresses); “It’s not big enough!”  Do you believe in a short while, the waiter brought another one?!!! By this time I was embarrassed. Anyhow, they thanked us repeatedly for coming, gave us a bill not to pay, and begged us to return.

I came home last night and thought: “Oh my God, this is what Abraham is teaching.” ASK AND IT IS GIVEN!!! We can get so in the flow, that every single desire is answered, every single time without question.
